Adventure Cruise 2021

We look forward to welcoming 60 children on our 2021 Adventure Cruise at the John Wesley Church of England & Methodist Primary School.  Each morning next week we will be engaging in lots of different activities in small crews under the guidance of the wonderful Captain Tom Lewis.  We’d like to thank all the volunteer helpers for giving up their time and ask for your prayers for:

  • The children and volunteers to grow positive relationships
  • The children to grow in their faith and understanding
  • For everyone to stay safe and free from the virus.

Below is a photograph from this afternoon’s setting up session, many thanks to all who turned up to help get everything ready.

Lighthouse rocks

Our lighthouse group is for young people during our 11am worship. This morning they were talking about Hope and they all painted rocks of hope.

If you are primary school aged, or early secondary school and would like to see what Lighthouse us about just pop along for 11am on Sunday.

If you are older if have our South Kent Youth group on a Sunday evening at 6:30 pm.

Advent Ring

Our Advent Ring
Our Advent Ring

This morning during our worship the children with help from a couple of parents built our advent ring from a variety of evergreens and the customary five candles.  We traditionally use four red candles and one white candle to represent the People of God, the Prophets, John the Baptist, Mary and Christ in the centre.  The candles also represent Hope, Peace, Joy, Love and Christ.

We enter this season of Advent with hope for God’s coming at Christmas, but also with hope for all people’s of this world.
