Lent – Pure and Simple

Often in life, it can seem as though days are going past in a daze of earthly desires, and we try to side-line God or compartmentalise God’s love and calling for us because it can feel like the easiest thing to do.

This song speaks of a love that is never ending, but through the daze of life, is side-lined. It speaks of times when we “haven’t been around” and we get caught up in the routines of daily life and daily desires. The story of Jesus turning tables in the Temple shows us how God’s love is unbounded from our earthly desires.

When Jesus turned over the tables in the Temple he overturned the boundary that the commercial activity placed between the people and God. And today, Jesus breaks the boundaries of our earthly desires, so that we will always be able to give devotion to a God that really does have unbounded love, no matter how much we try to bind it by our earthly desires.
