The Messy Church team, having joined with Great Chart, hosted our second Christingle Messy Church on Tuesday 13th December. We were joined by about 20 children from the John Wesley Church of England/Methodist Primary School, who kindly hosted the event. The children made their Christingle and put together a card with information about the Christingle. Donation boxes for the Children’s Society had been passed round the whole school.

Advent Ring

This morning during our worship the children with help from a couple of parents built our advent ring from a variety of evergreens and the customary five candles. We traditionally use four red candles and one white candle to represent the People of God, the Prophets, John the Baptist, Mary and Christ in the centre. The candles also represent Hope, Peace, Joy, Love and Christ.
We enter this season of Advent with hope for God’s coming at Christmas, but also with hope for all people’s of this world.
